Nimaya Addresses Growing Demand for Secure Cloud Integration in 2010
Enterprise Integration Company Transforms Under Guidance of Veteran IT Security Executive
Washington, DC, January 20, 2010 - Over the past year, under the guidance of new chairman and CEO, Michael Del Rosso, Nimaya has completed a transformation to meet growing demand for integration platforms that can securely connect an enterprise’s disparate on-premise and cloud-based systems, while preserving their significant IT investments.
The challenge for enterprises using software-as-a-service (SaaS) applications is securely integrating data and functionality with existing on-premise systems to enable the business processes that utilize both. IT managers need the ability to control whether to replicate data or create virtualized views to protect data behind the firewall as their security policies dictate. Business users need applications across operational areas such as sales, billing, inventory and customer service to interact while maintaining the existing security model.
“Using Nimaya’s ActionBridgeŽ platform, enterprises and government organizations no longer need to choose among integration platforms that only provide a single integration strategy,” said Michael Del Rosso, Nimaya chairman and CEO (http://www.nimaya.com/who-we-are/leadership.asp). “ActionBridge is a unified solution optimized for keeping cloud-based and on-premise applications in sync, allowing both real-time data sharing as well as high-performance data replication, along with the security controls for adherence to the strictest data governance.”
Del Rosso’s technology career spans three decades. He previously held roles as chief technology officer at Quantum Corporation, Legato Systems, Inc., and OTG Software, Inc., (Legato and OTG acquired by EMC), was founding CTO of iDEFENSE (acquired by VeriSign), and served on the board of directors of NFR Security, Inc. (acquired by Check Point Software). Prior to this, he led a technology consulting firm for 15 years, providing expertise in engineering design, strategic planning, product management and marketing to corporations such as IBM, Amdahl, Control Data, Computer Associates, Secure Computing Corporation and Northern Telecom.
“Leveraging his experience leading technology strategy for infrastructure software companies in the data storage, knowledge management and security spaces, Michael has re-focused Nimaya’s core technology to address key obstacles preventing enterprises from realizing the benefits of cloud computing,” said John Burton, managing partner at Updata Partners, investor in Nimaya.
Del Rosso is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), is past Chairman of the IEEE-USA Critical Infrastructure Protection Committee (CIPC) and has been a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). He was a 2006 Lincoln Fellow at The Claremont Institute where he is presently Research Fellow in National Security Policy, and Senior Fellow for Homeland and National Security at the Center for Security Policy.
Nimaya connects on-premise and cloud systems to combine data, create new applications and present analytics where and how business users need it, while preserving existing security policies and infrastructure investments. Nimaya’s flagship ActionBridge software is a unified integration platform that enables highly secure, configurable cloud computing. Founded in 1998, Nimaya serves enterprises and organizations in the telecommunications, financial services, government, manufacturing and pharmaceutical industries.
